UFCFWQ-45-M Interdisciplinary Group Project

Project Sponsor's Brief

The MSc Data Science / MSc Financial Technology Group Project involves a team of 4-5 students working on a project over one or two academic semesters. Projects may vary in nature, but should normally include the following elements:

• A real-world problem or innovation opportunity where data can be made available, or obtained
• User needs evaluation, design and prototyping
• Data capture, manipulation, integration and transformation
• If appropriate, modelling for description and / or prediction
• Visualisation and reporting and/or Creation of an artifact (e.g. interactive visualisation, software component, mobile app)

We are inviting project ideas from industry and academic sponsors who might ideally also make themselves available for team orientation, mentoring/feedback and assessment of the team's final output.

The team will be responsible for scoping and designing the overall approach, and for this reason the client doesn't need to overly prescriptive, but rather suggest a problem area or opportunity where useful innovation or analysis may be done.
